With Claesson Koivisto Rune's w151 Extra Large Pendant, Wästberg introduce a collection of large lamps that can change the feeling of a space with their scale and colour.

It comes in three variations, the low and wide S3, the classic S2 and this, the tall and narrow S1 pendant. All three are super-sized, pushing the limits of manufactured, spun aluminium.

Pendant shades have particular significance in the home. Beyond providing light they also shape and direct it, affecting the atmosphere of a room. In fact, the classic lampshade shape evolved in response to this. Its optimum size and form perfectly encases the traditional light bulb and directs the light.

The emergence of LED technology has freed the size and shape of a lampshade from this restriction, resulting in an explosion of exciting alternative designs. The W151 Pendant Series is Claesson Koivisto Rune's interpretation of this exciting shift in archetypes. By playing with scale and simplicity of form, they have created a dramatic, yet refined design.
