Designed by Konstantin Grcic, Vitra's Rookie Chair is an informal modern office chair that defies convention.

With the Rookie Chair, Vitra and designer Konstantin Grcic are subverting the idea of what an 'office chair' should look like. Its ergonomic features are incorporated within the design, hidden beneath its 'informal' exterior.

Rookie features a height-adjustable seat and backrest. The backrest flexes slightly when pressure is applied, and the front edge of the seat is unusually pliant. Gas-assist injection moulding technology is used to manufacture Rookie's plastic seat shell, which extends upwards at the rear to support the backrest element.

Providing immediate comfort with minimal adjustments; Gricic says the informal shape was designed with places that 'encourage the creation and exchange of ideas' in mind.

Offered online with five-star castor polyamide base, polypropylene frame in soft grey and upholstered in a choice of fabric or leather.
