Designed in the late 1950's by Charles and Ray Eames, the EA 117 Aluminium Group Chair is part of Vitra's iconic chair collection.

Originally inspired by a design created for use in the George Irwin House in Columbus, Indiana a project headed by Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard. The Eames' were determined to design a chair range that would work as well indoors as it did outdoors, and they succeeded, creating one of the most enduring and popular furniture designs of the 20th Century.

The EA 117 Chair, along with it's sister models the EA 118 and EA 119 are the Office Task Chairs in the Aluminium Group range. The tilt mechanism in the seat can be adjusted to the weight of the user, providing optimum comfort.

Available online in classic Black Hopsack Fabric or Asphalt Premium Black Leather.
