Designers Charles & Ray Eames revolutionised chair design with Vitra's Eames RE DSX Plastic Side Chair.
'Getting the most of the best to the greatest number of people for the least' was the mantra of furniture designers Charles and Ray Eames. No other Eames' design comes as close to achieving this ideal as the Plastic Chair.
For years, the designer couple explored the fundamental idea of a one-piece seat shell moulded to fit the contours of the human body, the result was the Plastic Chair collection. First created in 1950, its organically curved seat shell is available on a variety of bases. Including the DSX Chair, with its four-legged, tubular steel base. This base is also available on the DSX's armchair equivalent, the DAX Plastic Armchair.
The 100% recycled shell of the RE Chair is made from recycled packaging via Germany's 'Yellow Bag' program and features a distinctive speckled appearance.
- Base available online in the black powder-coated finish (white or chrome possible on request).
- Seat shell available in fourteen colourways.
- Suitable for use in gardens and terraces when supplied with the black or white base.
- Dimensions: W.46.5 x D.55 x H.43/83 cm.
