Designed by John Astbury for New Works, the Atlas Stool is inspired by the mythical Titan condemned to bear the heavens on his shoulders.
The robust legs of the Atlas incorporate the fundamental geometry of the circle and square, deriving its composition from these primary archetypes. Designed with solidity and precision, Atlas serves as both a stool and a side table, offering versatility in a refined, functional form.
The join and distinction between the legs and top are pivotal to the design of the stool, enhancing its strong and powerful expression. Crafted from solid oak, Atlas is suitable for both residential and contract settings.
