The Mattiazzi Filo Chair is a new design by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Its elegant side profile takes inspiration from the duo's love of typography.

This Mattiazzi chair presents a new direction for the designers. Ronan Bouroullec says:

"Filo is very well composed in the sense of its lines, the tension and the radius, but it's a bit more square than our usual work. I think there's something quite robust in it, and I think that's new."

Filo's solid wood frame echoes the precise lines of typography. Sustainability is an essential element too. Mattiazzi's intelligent construction technique reduces wastage, maximising strength with minimal use of materials.

The repeating fabric cord lines extend Filo's graphic qualities. The cord also gives a soft and personal element to the design by adapting to your body when sitting.
