For designer Naoto Fukasawa, Tako represents a creative evolution from the Hiroshima Chair. Building on the curves explored by the original, the Tako Armchair has a complex, fully organic form; achieved using Maruni's highly specialised technology. Tako's elegant curves provide comfort for the sitter and are finished by hand to give it the high quality, tactile feel associated with Maruni.
Fukasawa is known for his exploration of the 'supernormal'. He says of his work "I've been trying to figure out what 'normal' is... I think perfecting 'normal' can be a very beautiful thing." We feel that Tako exemplifies his design philosophy as well as his fascination with achieving seemingly 'minimal' forms that belie their complex construction.
Also offered in whitened or natural black oak, or walnut with a light brown finish. For further information please email [email protected]
