Designed for the American market in the late 1950s the France Chair, or FJ 136, was originally sold as a 'knock down' piece, delivered flat-packed for assembly at home.

Now sold fully assembled, the France Chair boasts distinctive design details indicative of the Finn Juhl brand. The seat and back are lifted from the frame while the armrests have the iconic paper knife detail which is also found on the iconic 45 Chair.

The France chair was among the earliest examples of wooden Scandinavian furniture designed for industrial production As a result, the chair has relatively few components, exuding a minimal, ergonomic form with a light and welcoming expression.

The chair is available in oak, smoked oak, black painted oak or walnut with handsewn upholstery in fabric or leather.
