Designed by Jonas Trampedach for Hay, the aesthetic of the Type Chair stems from the perception and general idea of a prototypical chair.
Type’s distinctively shaped back gives it a uniform sculptural expression that reinforces the chair’s sense of familiarity while retaining its own unique character.
Merging modern craft with industrial processes, its smooth, closed surface is made from aluminium with a silicone coating. A key feature of the Type is the ability to stack up to 5 chairs which make this the perfect option for outdoor hospitality settings.
