First unveiled in 1947 at the Finland House in New York, the A1965 proved to be an instant success. Its organically shaped brass shade features delicate perforated details, with a diffuser in partially frosted glass to help prevent glare.
Paavo Tynell's vision was to merge the advantages of the portable and installed lamp - as a result, the A1965 features a unique counterweight mechanism which allows the shade to be raised and lowered to different heights.
