"When I sit on a train travelling, I always see these strings of electricity out of the window. It’s so beautiful and poetic the way they connect the pylons but at the same time they divide the landscape. I wanted to translate this into an interior environment." - Michael Anastassiades

Anastassiades calls his String Lights for Flos linear drawings. They are a system of spherical or conical lamps strung between walls, ceiling and floor to create an infrastructure of geometric shapes. The intention is that the cables play an equal role to the light in creating a sculptural form within the architecture of the space, while the light itself is strong yet diffused and dimmable.

There are two types of diffuser in the series. This, the String Light Cone Pendant and the String Light Sphere, they can be mixed and matched at will. Crafted from a matt black varnished die-cast aluminium body coated with clear soft-touch varnish, they include an optical diffuser in opal polycarbonate.

Both diffusers can be supplied with a wall/ceiling connection in black PC or a power supply with floor switch in matt black varnished PC. The on/off switch is electronic with optical mechanism. The on/off and dimmer can be operated via Bluetooth using a Android and Apple compatible remote control App.
