Born in Denmark in 1936, Niels Jørgen Haugesen studied at the Danish School of Arts, Crafts, and Design before honing his skills under Arne Jacobsen, an experience that deeply influenced his approach. Recognised for his minimalist, function-driven aesthetic, Haugesen’s work merges industrial precision with a refined structural logic. His X-Line Chair, designed in the late 1970s, remains a key example of his commitment to high-tech design and considered craftsmanship.
