Jordi Miralbell and Mariona Raventós
Jordi Miralbell and Mariona Raventós design contemporary lighting that transforms "the utilitarian into an object of desire, made with human warmth."
Spanish designers Jordi Miralbell and Mariona Raventós grounded their design philosophy in craftsmanship. Together they designed furniture and lighting as well as working on multidisciplinary projects as art directors and graphic designers. The duo worked closely with Spanish lighting company Santa & Cole, working as authors, partners and as part of their editorial committee.
Their studio was founded in 1979 with the desire to meet utilitarian needs with human warmth. Many of their designs remain in the Santa & Cole collection including their Dórica Floor Light. Inspired by classical architecture the light demonstrates their love of natural materials and poetic forms.
