Gubi Olsen and his wife Lisbeth founded Gubi in 1967. Olsen contributed several pieces to the companies collection such as the Grand Piano Sofa. His sources of inspiration were diverse, marrying traditional Danish design craftsmanship with historical references such as Napoleon Bonaparte and French cinema.
