Fien Muller & Hannes Van Severen
In 2011 visual artists Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen decided to cross the lines of their individual fields - photography and sculpture - and embark upon a mutual furniture project.
Jointly they have developed a series of unique design pieces, minimal in form and detailing but maximal in usability and use of materials.
Fien and Hannes live and work together in Ghent, Belgium. Under the name Muller Van Severen they quickly became popular in the design world for their natural approach and unmistakable style - perhaps the result of Fien's sense of colour and composition, and Hannes' background in sculpture.
Both have the ability to see the everyday object in a new light and they continue to work in close collaboration without having to categorise their various disciplines.
