Faye Toogood left her career as 'World of Interiors' editor to found Studio Toogood in 2008. Since then she has designed furniture and interiors for clients as diverse as Hermès, Driade and Please Wait To Be Seated. With her sister Erica, a pattern cutter, she formed their eponymous fashion label in 2014.
Faye Toogood furniture is conceptually driven; speaking with Sam Walton of Hole & Corner Magazine, the artist explained the ethos behind her practice. “I’m not a self-producer, I’m not a craftsman. I’m a designer that needs industry and manufacturing to do what I do, so I’m interested in how as an individual you can bring man and machine together. The ethos behind the studio is essentially something that is made in Britain with integrity.”
