Ed Carpenter & André Klauser

Designers André Klauser and Ed Carpenter have produced work of considered beauty for over twenty years.

André Klauser was born in Hanover, Germany. He graduated in Design at the Fachhochschule Münster in 2000. Between 1999 and 2001 he worked for Jasper Morrison in London. In addition to his design work, he also returned to the RCA, this time as a teacher on the Design Products MA course.

Klauser met Ed Carpenter whilst studying at the Royal College of Art. Upon graduation, they formed the studio Klauser + Carpenter and produced designs for companies such as Modus and Established & Sons.

After many years designing for others, the duo decided to create their own furniture company Very Good & Proper with the mantra 'measure twice cut once' as their guide. The result is an overwhelmingly successful collection of products that are responsibly made, carefully considered, practical and beautiful.
