Destroyers / Builders

Destroyers / Builders' furniture balances the traditional and contemporary, taking inspiration from architectural forms.

The Antwerp and Brussels based studio was formed by Linde Freya Tangelder in 2014. Taking architectural and industrial forms as their starting point for any design, Destroyers / Builders say of their methodology "through diverse materials, constructions are scaled down to human sizes, and translations result in sculptural gestures. Both low and high-end materials get revalued, reconsidered and transformed. The interventions and finishes by hand, give these architectural objects a tactile aspect."

Destroyers / Builders are part of Belgian design collective BRUT and work closely with the design brand Valerie Objects.
