Neri & Hu's Duet Chair for De La Espada is named for the two flowing lines of timber that form the supportive cradle of its seat.

Inspired by Thonet's classic Viennese bistro chair, De La Espada and Neri & Hu have recreated its characteristic curves using innovative construction techniques.

The chair is made using a series of carved wood components, joined with mortise and tenon, a modern alternative to the traditional steam-bent technique. This gives the silhouette of continuous curves while visible join lines and patterns add contrast and interest to the design.

The Duet Chair is available online in black oiled ash and white oiled oak as pictured. Alternative finishes and an upholstered seat are available upon request. See technical downloads for details of additional finishes.
