Workspace provide flexible office space to companies and freelancers and start ups.
The company enlisted Bluebottle to design their latest venture in South-East London; a six-storey redevelopment of an existing 1960’s office building at the heart of the Kennington Conservation area.
The building once featured a loading bay and car park that is a now a central atrium that houses a café, creative breakout spaces and four impressive meeting rooms all flooded with natural light.
In addition to conventional office hire spaces, Edinburgh house has a co-working hub for freelancers, entrepreneurs and growing teams.
Bluebottle is a principal-led architectural practice, that lets customer needs rather than a house style define the look, feel and functionality of their projects. Find out more on the Bluebottle website.
Edinburgh House was originally built in the 1960's, Workspace commissioned Bluebottle to assist with converting the building into a modern workplace suitable for startups and freelancers as well as smaller established businesses.
The central atrium, once a car park, now houses a communal café space for workers to escape their desks and relax. The sky lit roof floods the space with natural light.
Situated throughout the building are informal meeting spaces that lift the concrete interior with a sharp palette of yellows, greens and burnt orange.
Black leather and teak bar stools by Stellar Works add richness to the interior complementing crittal structures that provide flow between upper and lower levels.
Duke's cafe situated in the central atrium features Thonet dining chairs; modern classics that add warmth and colour, whilst the Pedrali tables reinforce the angular architectural lines.
e15's Holborn Table provides a soft alternative to the black desking provided elsewhere in the building. Its solid wood structure adding texture and depth to the materials palette.
The angular lines of Fest Amsterdam's Monday chair are put to good use here in the private meeting areas, Bluebottle's choice of contrasting tones adding vibrance and interest.
