Velo House, Kiwi & Pom

Kiwi and Pom created the space using bursts of bold colours of graphics inspired by the lines of the velodrome and cycling paraphernalia. Yellow peg boards draw the attention of passers-by to the activities in the workshop. In the retail space, moveable units were built so it could be reconfigured at will. The café features custom tables with local cycling route maps on them so visitors can plan their next expedition.

In addition to all these custom elements, Kiwi + Pom carefully selected furniture and lighting for space supplied by Viaduct such as the Hay About A Chair and the Hal chair by Jasper Morrison for Vitra.

Located in Tunbridge Wells, the traditional architecture is juxtaposed by the designer's modern, sport inspired interior.

The interior walls of the Velo House are painted to resemble the markings of a Velodrome. These primary brights are then echoed throughout the space in details such as the stairwells are bar area.

Kiwi & Pom created mobile units for the retail space that can be reordered at will, creating a sense of dynamism, but also crucially allowing the owners to utilise the space in different ways according to needs. 

 The café tabletops were cutom built to include local cycling route maps, helping visitors to plan their next expedition.
