Designed by Hans Wegner in 1950, the CH23 chair is a beautiful example of Wegner's flair for creating simple pieces with honest, high-quality craftsmanship.

Comprising fourteen elements in solid wood and form-pressed veneer, the chair features Wegner's signature cruciform cover caps, which mark where the two materials meet and evidence the designer's refined woodworking skill.

This armless wooden dining chair also features a meticulously hand-woven seat. Crafted in a double weave pattern, the labour intensive process takes an experienced weaver one and a half hours and 1350 cm of paper cord to complete. The result is a timeless chair that evokes refinement, quality and conservative modernity.
