Discovering that methacrylate is inherently lighter and stronger than glass, Sarfatti expanded upon the material's potential to create a seemingly weightless and free-floating lamp.
Model 2065 consists of two connected opalescent parts, suspended from the ceiling with a black aluminium canopy. Astep's modern reissue also includes a black and white version, leaving just the lower section as the light source for a more intimate illumination with the same graphic aesthetic.
The model has been featured in a number of significant interior projects by Italian architects such as Vito Latis and Vittoriano Viganò.
