Jaime Hayon reimagines the rice paper lamp for the modern day home in this poetic union of Eastern and Western design.
Seen in Asian cultures for centuries, Hayon has combined different shapes and sizes of traditional lights together, fusing aspects of different cultures in one cohesive whole. Rather than remaining concealed inside, the light is released through the Formakami's opening, offering an ambient light with a soft, gentle glow. Formakami is available in three shapes, each lightweight lamp weighing less than 1kg each.
It is crafted in delicate white rice paper with black stained oak accents, and finished with a slender black fabric cord.
