The Hang It All Coat Rack, with its instantly recognisable coloured wooden spheres, was originally designed by Ray Eames in 1953.
Created to offer a playful solution that encouraged children to hang up their things, this fun yet functional object was coveted by children and adults alike. The hooks were reintroduced by Vitra in the 1990s and have been in production ever since, with red, green and white versions created to commemorate what would have been Ray's 100th birthday.
With a unique structure made using the same techniques of the Eames' seminal wire base chairs, the humble Hang It All Coat Rack has come to be seen as an icon representative of the mid-century modern era.
